Two of the most-used tajweed chapters in Noorani Qaida. When a noon or meem carries sukoon (or as tanween), its sound changes depending on the next letter.

Idgham — Merging
Merge the noon into the next letter with ghunnah (ي ن م و) or without (ل ر). Total 6 letters: ي ر م ل و ن — remembered as 'yarmalūn'.
مِن رَّبِّهِمْ مَن يَقُولُ
The noon disappears into the next letter.

Iqlab — Converting
When noon sakinah meets ب, it becomes a hidden meem with ghunnah. A small meem is written above.
مِنۢ بَعْدِ
min ba'di — pronounced 'mim ba'di'.

Ikhfa — Hiding
With the remaining 15 letters, the noon is hidden and a 2-count ghunnah is produced.

A gentle nasal hum, no full 'n'.
