Hadith of the day
Coolness of the eyes
وَجُعِلَتْ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ
“And the coolness of my eyes has been placed in prayer.”

Actions are by intentions
إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ، وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى
“Actions are but by intentions, and every person will have only what they intended.”

Allah looks at hearts

“Allah does not look at your bodies or your faces, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.”

“Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, Allah records it as one complete good deed.”

Warning against showing off

Seventy-odd branches of faith

“Faith has over seventy branches; the highest is saying 'there is no god but Allah', and the lowest is removing something harmful from the road.”

The sweetness of faith

Religion is sincerity
الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ

Prayer is the pillar of religion
الصَّلَاةُ عِمَادُ الدِّينِ، مَنْ أَقَامَهَا فَقَدْ أَقَامَ الدِّينَ

“If there were a river at the door of one of you in which he bathed five times a day, would any dirt remain on him? They said: No. He said: That is the likeness of the five daily prayers — Allah wipes away sins by them.”

“Whoever stands in prayer on the Night of Decree out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven.”

Fasting Monday and Thursday
تُعْرَضُ الأَعْمَالُ يَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُعْرَضَ عَمَلِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ
“Deeds are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I love that my deeds be presented while I am fasting.”

Fasting is a shield
الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ
“Fasting is a shield; so when one of you is fasting, let him not speak obscenely or act ignorantly.”

The gate of Ar-Rayyan

Best charity — while healthy

Charity shades on Judgement Day

Charity never decreases wealth

Marry for deen
تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ لِأَرْبَعٍ: لِمَالِهَا، وَلِحَسَبِهَا، وَلِجَمَالِهَا، وَلِدِينِهَا. فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ
“A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion. So choose the one with religion — may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e. you will prosper).”

Do not hate a believing wife

“A believing man must not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her traits, he will be pleased with another.”

Choose religion
فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ

A righteous spouse

Do not seek divorce without cause

“Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without a valid reason — the fragrance of Paradise is forbidden for her.”

Keep with kindness or release with kindness

“The one who severs ties of kinship will not enter Paradise.”

Kinship extends life & provision

“Whoever wishes his provision to be expanded and his lifespan extended, let him maintain the ties of kinship.”

A careless word

“A servant may speak a word without thinking, and by it he slips into the Fire further than the distance between east and west.”

What is backbiting?
ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ

“No one with an atom's weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise. Pride is rejecting the truth and looking down on people.”

“O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except those whom I guide, so seek guidance from Me and I shall guide you. O My servants, all of you are hungry except those whom I feed, so ask Me for food and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except those whom I clothe, so ask Me for clothing and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so ask Me for forgiveness and I shall forgive you. O My servants, you can neither harm Me nor benefit Me. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all as righteous as the most righteous heart among you, that would not increase My dominion in anything. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all as wicked as the most wicked heart among you, that would not decrease My dominion in anything. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all to stand together in one place and ask of Me, and I gave each one exactly what he asked for, that would not decrease what I possess except as a needle decreases the sea when dipped into it. O My servants, it is only your deeds that I record for you and then repay you for. So whoever finds good, let him praise Allah; and whoever finds otherwise, let him blame no one but himself.”

“Seven whom Allah will shade on the Day when there is no shade but His: a just ruler, a youth raised in the worship of Allah…”

Planting a tree

“No Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop from which a bird, human or animal eats except that it is charity for him.”

Do not waste water

“Do not be wasteful. He was asked: Is there waste even in wudu? He said: Yes, even if you are at a flowing river.”

The traveller's dua
ثَلَاثُ دَعَوَاتٍ مُسْتَجَابَاتٌ: دَعْوَةُ الْمُسَافِرِ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْمَظْلُومِ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْوَالِدِ عَلَى وَلَدِهِ
“Three supplications are answered: that of the traveller, the oppressed, and the parent for their child.”

Travel is a piece of torment

“Travel is a portion of torment: it deprives you of your food, drink and sleep. So when you finish your need, hurry back to your family.”

Appoint a leader

Say Bismillah and eat near you

Sleep on your right side

“When you go to bed, perform wudu as you would for prayer, then lie down on your right side.”

“Satan ties three knots at the back of your head when you sleep. They are undone by remembering Allah, performing wudu, and praying.”

“Allah does not remove knowledge by snatching it away from people, but by taking away the scholars.”

جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الرَّحْمَةَ مِائَةَ جُزْءٍ

“If you came to Me with sins nearly filling the earth, then met Me without associating anything with Me, I would meet you with forgiveness nearly as great.”

More merciful than a mother
لَلَّهُ أَرْحَمُ بِعِبَادِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ بِوَلَدِهَا
“Seeing a woman clutch her child, the Prophet ﷺ said: Allah is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child.”

Prophets are brothers

The descent of 'Isa

“By the One in whose hand is my soul, the son of Maryam will soon descend among you as a just judge.”
